Short-term options (6 months or less)
Thailand, Vietnam and South Korea all offer placements of 6 months or less, perfect for a career break or gap period.
Opportunities to extend are available, subject to school vacancies, visa requirements and contract renewal. TFT does not charge an additional programme fee to extend.

How It Works
- Hold a bachelor's degree or higher in any field

Fill out our application form and the team will be in touch within a few days. Our programme includes a highly accredited TEFL qualification and in-person training. You don't need any experience.
Good to Know
Accommodation will be organised for you in Japan and you will be responsible for your rent and utilities. Typical rent is between £350-500 per month plus utilities (~£50). You'll need to pay a deposit and 1 month rent upfront on arrival. If required to drive to your placement, your school will help with a rental car, often with a generous contribution.
You will need around £3,500 for everything else: background checks, document preparation, flight, travel insurance, initial rent, and spending money before your first pay day. The process getting to Japan is quite long, so you will have time to save up for this adventure before departing.
